The department is responsible for a diverse range of policies, payments, programs, and services that support:
- vulnerable families and children
- those in need of affordable housing and homelessness services
- senior Australians
- the independence of people with disability and carers.
As part of the program, you will meet like-minded peers from all over Australia and have a chance to explore all that Canberra has to offer.
You will earn a starting salary of $63,719 a year and receive a generous package of entitlements including 15.4% superannuation, 18 days of personal leave (sick and carers leave) as well as 4 weeks recreation leave. The department will also pay for your move if you live outside the Canberra region.
